PICS FROM ATHI-PATRA RUGA'S ILULWANE PERFORMANCE PIECE IN NEW YORK FOR PERFORMA 11

A couple of months ago, Nov 13th to be exact, i posted about Athi-Patra Ruga's then upcoming performance piece ILULWANE in New York as part of the PERFORMA Biennial, presented by What If The World Gallery, The Museum for African Art and Performa. You can check the link here to refresh your memory, or if you didn't see the previous post then i highly recommend you follow the link for background info. Well, the performance happened and unfortunately i couldn't be there but I heard from trusted sources that it was a resounding success. In fact it will soon be traveling around the world. And i also have it on good authority that the South African debut will be in Cape Town this year, much sooner than you think. Don't worry skat, I will keep you posted. The pics above were taken during the NY performance. They are of course only just a sneak peek, the actual piece is a 45 minute performance. Enjoy.
