Congratulations to the winners. Thank you to all who entered for being such good sports!!!! Love you guys. And thank you to J&B Honey for the tickets. I'd personally like to thank our judges for their time, style, and humour. Also, thanks to boo thang Athi-Patra Ruga for letting us use his studio.
DISCLAIMER: I have to say this bit because i know there is an overzealous video school skattie out there who's gonna comment about video quality. For you dearie: I don't know the first thing about shooting or editing, I'm just having fun, relax. Secondly, we were load shedding that evening, s'true s'bob. So we worked with natural light, at sunset. Now watch and enjoy, it's bloody hysterical!!!!

Hello Skattie, it’s almost that time again, we’re just over a week away from the J&B Met, the superglam horseracing event which will be held at the Kenilworth racecourse in Cape Town on the 31st of January. This time around I’ve got a whole 20 tickets to giveaway, thanks to J&B, the peeps, who've been behind what is possibly my favourite shindig since 1977. No really, those who’ve been around this blog for a minute know the kinds of pics this event blesses us with. Can’t wait!
OH SKATTIE BUT HOW?????
So, those tickets. I have 10 General access tickets, and another 10 even fancier tickets for the Lifestyle Village, and here’s how you can get your hands on a pair for you and your best skattie. Put together an outfit that you think most stylishly and most skattielisciously expresses this year’s theme, “Made for the mix”. A bitjie background on the theme, it’s about combining two seemingly contrasting elements, and it’s inspired by J&B’s new J&B Urban Honey, which combines the whisky with sweet honey flavours. Oh, on that note, I also have a bottle of the good stuff to giveaway to 1 special skattie, who might not win a ticket, but shows serious effort. So, put together your outfit, using yours or a friend’s garments, show us how your outfit is MADE FOR THE MIX, shoot a pic, and mail it to firstname.lastname@example.org. Closing date Tuesday 27th at 12h00 noon. Judging session to be published on the Wednesday 28th, where the winner will be announced.
AND THE JUDGES SKAT????
Most importantly, these fabulous people will be your judges, my fellow skattie co-editor, Fashion & Culture writer Sandiso Ngubane (@Sandiso_N), Super Stylist & Creative Consultant Bee Diamondhead (insta: @bee_diamondhead), Singer, Songwriter & Style Icon Award Winner Lindiwe Suttle (@lindiwesuttle). Trust me skat, if there is any group of people you want guiding your style choices, it’s this bunch, they live and breathe style. They eat it for breakfast and dinner. Just kidding, nobody eats dinner anymore. So quick do it now, enter skat, and let’s hang out together at the Met. Remember to put maximum effort so you can get the fancy tickets, so we can really hang together if you know what i mean.

This, my fourth LQP, was by far my favourite one. I don’t know, maybe I was just in a great mood, but I felt as though people looked the nicest I’ve seen them look over the last four years. The looks weren’t super edgy or anything – the event really doesn’t call for that, but they were generally well put together, even the boring ones. The best thing the organisers of the LQP ever did was to stick to the blue and white theme every year, it is so easy and it works so well, and it prevents a 1000 horrors, which I predict we’ll see elsewhere before the month is over. Dunno why, I just feel it in me waters, call me psychic.
