SKATTIELISCIOUS LIVING /// THE WEEK IN SIX PARTS

Firstly i must apologize for the strange flat overly edited looking  colour of these images. Some shit happened between the editing process and uploading online, and seeing as i just spent almost the entire Sunday staring at this screen, i think imma let this one slide. Be nice and just turn down the brightness setting on your screen. Anyway, my incompetence aside, it's been a rather busy week, starting off with the Mr Price blogger's breakfast on Tuesday, where they showed us some highlights of their winter merchandise, and as usual it's looking fucking hot. The ladies from Mr P in the two pics directly below also came dressed in pieces from their winter range. Loved that.

IT WOULDN'T BE A BLOGGER'S BREAKFAST IF WE DIDN'T SAY GRACE.

ALSO, DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND POP INTO 'WHAT IF THE WORLD GALLERY' IF YOU IN CT TO CHECK OUT 'I SAW THIS', CAMERON PLATTER'S NEW EXHIBITION. I DON'T HAVE ALL THE PICS OF HIS MASSIVE AND SOMEWHAT SUBVERSIVE SCULPTURES AND CERAMICS HERE, BUT THEY ARE REALLY WORTH SEEING. THE TAPESTRIES BELOW ARE ALSO FAR FAR FAR BETTER SEEN IN REAL LIFE, THE PICS DON'T DO THEM JUSTICE. GO SEE THE SHOW!
So, anyone who has been reading this blog for a coupla years, or knows me personally knows I have a bunch of weight/body issues, and a fairly high BMI. When my partner Athi-Patra Ruga and I were invited to pose nude for the annual Marie Claire Naked Issue, it was not a tricky decision to make, but it is for charity so I decided to get over myself and my body issues and be a good sport, so we posed and it was fun. The chosen charity this year was The Lunchbox Fund, which provides daily meals to orphaned and vulnerable school children in our townships and villages. THEY PROVIDE 1 MILLION MEALS ANNUALLY, which i think is fucking amazing. Please visit their site to find out about their work and how you can get involved. Better yet, log on to your internet banking and donate right now, every little bit helps, R10 can feed a child for a day. Their account details are: Bank - FNB, Account name - The Lunchbox Fund,  Acc no. 62382568403, Branch code - 260950. Marie Claire is also running a shop+snap+share campaign. Basically you snap a selfie of yourself with your copy of the Naked Issue, hashtag #MCnaked, the goal is to reach 10 000 such selfies and the mag will donate R10 000 to the lunchbox fund. Please keep your clothes on for the selfie, it ain't that kinda party.

SPIER'S SECRET COURTYARD IS MY FAVOURITE NEW VENUE IN TOWN, YOU REALLY MUST CHECK THEM OUT, NO. 64 WALE STREET, RIGHT NEXT TO HONEST CHOCOLATE. IT'S A WINE BAR THAT OFFERS SUCH A UNIQUE AND INTIMATE, YET UNINTIMIDATING DINING EXPERIENCE. ON THIS PARTICULAR NIGHT MY FRIEND AND COOKBOOK AUTHOR JADE DE WAAL WAS ON THE POTS COOKING UP A SPECIAL VEGETARIAN DINNER. LOOK FORWARD TO A VARIETY OF EVENTS LIKE SCREENINGS AND LIVE BANDS.
\

WE OBVS RATHER JOLLY AND DIDN'T WANT THE NIGHT TO END, EVER! SO WE WENT TO 'POWER & GLORY' FOR A NIGHT CAP AND THEN DANCED ON THE STREETS!

NO BETTER WAY TO RECOVER FROM A HECTIC WEEK THAN TO GET OUT OF TOWN, EVEN IF IT ONLY FOR A FEW HOURS. WE TOOK THE THREE HOUR DRIVE OUT TO GREYTON, ONE OF MY FAVOURITE SMALL TOWN/VILLAGE SETUPS, ON THE SLOPES OF THE OVERBERG MOUNTAIN RANGES. WE ATE, DRANK, WALKED AND WORKED ON OUR INSTAGRAM PROFILE PICS.
