Ola skat, I'm sure those of you who live in Cape Town know what First Thursdays are about by now, but for those who have not experienced them yet here is a quick recap: On the first thursday of every month, several places in the city stay open late, galleries & shops. I enjoyed some great first Thursdays last year, but this one was fucking amazing, shitloads more places were open till 21h00 or having some sort of opening or exhibition, the city was packed, fucking buzz everywhere, people walking the streets with their wine glasses moving from gallery to gallery to shop to party. I was rather overwhelmed to be honest, but i did manage to snap a few pics, certainly not as many as I could have. If you still haven't checked first Thursday out you really should, next one is March 6, just take public transport please, because parking becomes a fucking nightmare, the shops are generally all within a walkable distance anyway, with so much free wine at shops and galleries along the way.

THEY'RE AMAZING TO BEHOLD. THE GALLERY'S WEBSITE DESCRIBES THEM AS AN EXPLORATION OF OUR FASCINATION WITH CRIME SCENES AS THEY ARE SEEN IN THE MEDIA. THE WORK OF COURSE DOES NOT SHOW THE CRIME ITSELF, BUT RATHER INSINUATES, YOU CAN PLAY DETECTIVE IF YOU WANNA. IT'S A SHOW DEFINITELY WORTH CHECKING OUT.
