Ola, apologies skat, this post is seriously delayed, by 9
days to be exact; the dinner took place on Friday the 1st November.
Secondly, and unfortunately, I couldn't bring my camera to the dinner, as it
was a closed intimate vibe with a cool and very fucking enviable guest list I might add,
Terry, Lira, Bonnie, Carol, Joanne, Craig, Shado, the Mayor, and the list goes
on and on.
So, in the interest of making sure the guests could relax,
let their hair down so to speak, cameras were kept to the absolute minimum,
just one to be specific, the official photographer. There was practically no
media invited, except for Marie Claire editor Aspasia Karras and I, and even we
weren't there to work. To say it was a fucking amazing night would be an
understatement, but I'll say it anyway, IT WAS FUCKING AMAZING! To be honest
with you skat I did get terribly drunk of the champagne and the fabulousness
and I ended up dragging some of the guests and dinner organisers to my absolute
favourite Friday night party afterwards, EVOL. I unfortunately have no memory
of the night except a couple of cellphone pics that reassured me that I had a
fucking awesome time, that and I remember looking at the clock when the cab
dropped me off at home at 6am.
I suppose I should also let you know that Louis Vuitton
hosted the dinner to celebrate the launch of their new Louis Vuitton Cape Town
City Guide, a 318 page travel guide, making Cape Town, the 15th city
to get its very own LV travel guide. For the city guide editions LV selects its
favourite places in each of the fifteen cities, with a balance of the old and
the new establishments, the trad and the offbeat, nightlife, arts, culture,
fashion, and more. For the Cape Town edition they worked quite closely with
artist Beezy Bailey. Alright skat enjoy. Imma get reading my copy of the LVCT
city guide to see what I might have missed out on when it comes to all things
Cape Town.
AT THIS STAGE I GOT A BIT SNEAKY AND DECIDED TO USE MY CELLPHONE CAMERA, WHICH IS PRETTY KAK AS YOU CAN SEE, BUT HEY.
AND THEN THERE WAS EVOL
the name dropping killes me. lol. "Only Aspasia and I were invited from media."
