This past Thursday we hosted our second Skattie Celebrates
event. For those of you that still don’t know, Skattie Celebrates is a
quarterly happening, follow this link to my previous post about our first event, where I explain what it is all about.
This time around we were celebrating the work of the amazing
Laura Windvogel a.k.a Lady $kollie, and it was an awesome
night. Thank you to all y’all who braved the rain and cold weather to come thru
and celebrate with us. Your support is remembered and appreciated.
These things are always a result of several forces coming together
to make them possible. My fellow editor
and partner-in-hustle Sandiso Ngubane and I have a few people that we must thank.
Firstly, our partner Art South Africa (with special mention for designer Simone
Schultz), for designing an awesome Skattie Celebrates issue. Guys you better
download it now, here or from the link up above, if you have an itunes account you can also download it that way using this link, you’ll die, it’s so stunning. Thanks to the AVA gallery for
hosting us and supporting our mission to expand the art audience.
Of course it wouldn’t be much of a party without drank, on
that note we must thank our wine sponsors, Spier wines, not only for this party
but for their continued support for the arts in general. Big up to BombaySapphire for coming through once again and supplying us with the finest gin. Also thank you to our newest partner Drambuie
for some of the best tasting welcoming drinks I ever had. I welcomed myself
several times at their table. Thanks to
Bos Ice Tea for that for that well stocked Bos energy drink fridge that keeps us
bouncing and partying. Lastly, thank you to Patrick de Wet of Style Hire for
hooking us up with glasses. If you need quality glasses and crockery for
you event, he is the man.
Okay, for real lastly, thank you all our deejays, #ghettonews, Bee Diamondhead, Mr Blouse, Herr Kriger and Maloon for coming through, much appreciated.
Laura I go so much love and respect for you, and thank you
for giving Sandiso and I the opportunity to share you talent with others.
